Winter Courtiers
Brutality, bloodshed, and butchery. That is what I have seen this day. An entire battalion gutted, frozen, and scattered across the field. I feel that these faces, literally frozen in horror, shall follow me and my men until the end of our days...
-Rioscen Caest, Avalonian Regular, after finding the 3rd BattalionĀ at the battle of the Sal
Composition
Equipment
The Winter Courtiers are out of date, though that doesn't seem to bother them much. Equipped with breech-loading rifles from the previous era of warfare, the Winter Courtiers can only fire a single shot before having to reload. While not as slow to fire as muzzle-loading muskets, it does leave them at a distinct disadvantage against the modern weapons of the Age of Steel. It should be said, however, that the Winter Courtiers are expert marksmen and make every shot count.
Weaponry
The Winter Courtiers travel light, often with not much more than their rifles. The standard-issue rifle is the Snowlace and Jingleshine Recipe #570 Breechloading Rifle, offering great accuracy at a slow rate of fire.
Vehicles
Winter Golems are often used to move supplies or provide heavy support.
Tactics
Their main method of engagement is a strange balance between guerilla and an irregular force. Preferring to engage the enemy in surprise attacks, before dancing away, just out of reach. They can fight toe to toe against an opposing force, but that is not where their strength lie.
Training
Rigorously trained, and aided by their Fae nature, the Winter Courtiers are the most highly trained of the Sidhe Courts soldiers. They almost seem emotionless to many that see them in battle.
