The Varli-Gilge War
A one-sided war that consisted, essentially, of the Varlishi Trade Company kicking Gilgesh while it was down, and taking whatever wasn't nailed down. While Varlishi Condotierri made huge advancement on land, their navy hunted down the few ships that Gilgesh had on the Perfumed River. That is, until the two Varlishi ships ended up splintered away from the main fleet.
Pursued by Gilgeshi ships that were out for blood, they fled east, towards the unmapped mists of what is now known as Shaola. Left with no other choice, the Varlishi plunged into the mist and hoped to lose their pursuers. Perhaps they would have, but the unknown nature of the mists proved their undoing. No slick moves, nor amazing plan, just the cacophonous sound of sloops crashing at full speed onto land. From there, both groups were swarmed by the warriors and ships of Shaola.
With an accidental invasion, the war ended and Shaola was introduced to the world stage.

The Conflict
Prelude
Without the discovery of Shaola, the Varli-Gilge War would be considered nothing but the Varlishi attempting to grab its piece of Gilgesh after the Invasion of the Boar and Clover.
Deployment
Taking place mostly in the sands of Gilgesh, the ground conflict is of little concern, in the grand scheme of things. The far more important topic, is the war at sea, even as one-sided as it was.
