Koganari

Written by Drackzahn with input from Goldie

As soon as I saw her, I knew she was not from this world. She was a furry, something I was never too fond of, yet I could not take my eyes off her. Her beauty were otherworldly, and her playful smile quickly made my heart beat faster. I was charmed by her before I knew it.
— Guest of a Koganari
Koganaris are the divine offsprings of Goldie Kitsune, mostly her daughters. By definition, Goldie is a Koganari as well, sharing all their abilities and descriptions, yet this text will speak of the Koganari as daughters of Goldie. They may as well be granddaughters or further offspring.

Abilities

Golden Tails

The Koganari possess nine golden tails, each brimming with divine magic and mystery. These tails are incredibly soft and fluffy, their mere touch sending mortals into a state of blissful relaxation. Staring at them for too long can have a hypnotic effect, lulling the mind into a dreamlike trance.   Beyond their mesmerizing charm, the tails are linked to a tail space, a personal fluffy pocket dimension. Within this space, a Koganari can store items or even people, wrapping them in a world of warmth and comfort. Those inside feel endlessly cuddled, safe, and untouched by time, aging no longer a concern.   A Koganari can fuse, split, or even vanish her tails at will, shaping them to her desires.

Breach

Koganari can use small fissures in space to teleport shorter distances, or through bigger breaches, even between realms and planes. That way, they can easily split between Earth and Elystria in an instant. While Goldie is best in this, each of her offspring has a certain sense of finding these breaches and fissures to use them.

Charming

A playful smile or a flirty giggle is often enough to charm a mortal soul. Yet, beyond the physical charms they have, they can also use magic to increase these charms heavily. They can let themselves appear more beautiful and awake a lustful gaze from humans and other species. This charm is especially strong by direct touch, but can also be transported through bubbles or other media like their tails.

Magical Bubbles

Magical Bubbles are one of the favorite playtools of many Koganaris. They are able to create bubbles of varied properties either by blowing into their hands, simply by blowing them like gum bubbles, or creating them swiftly out of thin air close to themselves. These bubbles are under their control and can behave quite differently depending on what the Koganari requires. Most often they choose to make them squishy, soft, wobbly, smooth, and playful, yet they also can make them sticky, firmer, or vary them in color.

Soul Manipulation

The souls of most mortals are feelable for Koganari, and with their magic, they are able to manipulate them. A Koganari is able to pull the soul out of a mortal shell and connect it to something new, like a giant plushie, to create a Golem. They are also able to simply absorb the souls and store them for later usage in their bodies.

Bodyshifiting

The outer form of a Koganari is changeable for herself. She can easily appear as nearly any species she wishes, hiding among others like one of them. Most Koganari use this to hide, for example, in human society, to gain new impressions, or to search for new playmates and friends. Each Koganari has a normal, standard form that they always will turn back sooner or later to. The time they can hide their own forms varies from Koganari to Koganari and is naturally the strongest in the goddess Goldie.

Divine Magic

Due to their linking to the Goddess Goldie and her divinity, the amount of Mana a Koganari can use is near infinite, even when comparing them to their Kinari cousins. They can use this divine magic as well to transform others, for example into new Shrine Maiden Kinaris.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Trust me, you will know if you stand in front of Goldie's kin, or the goddess herself. Their presence and beauty are undeniable.
— Guest of Goldie
Koganari are kitsunes, similar to their Kinari cousins. They share the divine spark of Goldie Kitsune, their mother. They have golden fur and the forms of furry kitsunes with long fox ears, a snout, and 9 long golden tails. Their hair is always a shade of blond, and silk-like as well as soft. Most of them share their golden eyes with their mother, but some rarer cases also have blue, green, or pink eyes. As their bodies and forms are bound only to their and Goldie's will, these variances in eye colors may be fully their own choice and not a given fact by nature. They are physical and touchable, but that can change quickly. They can change their bodies easily, hiding their true nature and wandering under humans or other species easily without detection All Koganari are proud of their long, golden tails. They can easily hide these tails, or fuse them together into a single tail whenever they like. These tails are incredibly soft, comfortable to touch, warm, and spread a divine warmth into all who come into contact with them. But they are more than just material tails. Each tail is an entry point, the same as most of their bodies but they prefer using their tails, in a world of golden fluff and warmth. A human cuddling one or more of their tails can easily just vanish inside them.

Genetics and Reproduction

All Koganari are daughters of Goldie Kitsune and transformed or given birth by her. Due to their divine origin, the exact ways of transformation and reproduction differ and are in the hands of the goddess. Some may simply be given a kiss and transformed, others spending weeks or months in their mother's body, while others were given natural birth after Goldie had fun with some of her guests.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They only eat and drink to have the feeling of doing it. When sitting together with a guest, they will eat and drink with you.
— Shrine Maiden
Koganari enjoys having the pleasure of drinking rich tea or eating tasty food. Yet, they do not require it. Their bodies are bound to Elystria and fuelled by the divine magic of Goldie and her soul. They only would need external nutrition if their connection to Elystria is cut.

Behaviour

As a human, you need to get used to them. They play pranks, and toy around wherever they go. In one moment you just stroll down your way, in the next they trap you in a comfy bubble and join you inside for an extended cuddle session. Most of them are as caring, warm, cuddly, and flirty as their mother. Resisting their charms can be quite hard.
— Shrine maiden to a new guest
The Koganari are naturally playful and flirty, their personalities shaped by the ever-present influence of their goddess-mother, Goldie. They exude an effortless charm, delighting in teasing, cuddling, and spreading warmth wherever they go. Their playful nature is not just social. It is woven into the very essence of their being.   A common sight among them is cuddling with their own tails, enjoying their own soft fur as much as they enjoy sharing it. Many find joy in offering their tails, or even their own bodies, as a place of rest, enveloping others in a divine embrace. It is not unusual for them to sleep in close groups, often with their shrine maidens or those they have grown fond of.   Though they are deeply connected to Elystria and their mother, they frequently slip into the Material Plane, seeking out new guests, playmates, or simply fresh experiences. Their immortal existence leaves them carefree, unburdened by time, duty, or worry. Amusement and pleasure are their guiding forces, though each Koganari may express this in their own way.   Above all, their connection to Goldie remains unshaken. No matter how far they wander, they are always tied to their mother’s divine warmth

Additional Information

Geographic Origin and Distribution

The natural home of the Koganari is Elystria, where they can live out their playful, carefree nature without restraint. In Elystria, they are at their most radiant and mischievous, basking in endless games, cuddles, and teasing, surrounded by the warm presence of their goddess-mother, Goldie.   Many Koganari reside in their own shrines, which range from small, intimate sanctuaries to grand, sprawling temple complexes. These shrines are always welcoming and comfortable, filled with soft cushions, warm lights, and an ever-present scent of divine sweetness. Within these sacred places, their chosen foxy Shrine Maidens tend to them, mortals they have either transformed themselves or received as a gift from Goldie. These maidens serve with devotion and affection, often forming deep bonds with their Koganari mistress. Here and there, lucky mortals may also live together with them as their guests.   Though they are divine beings, Koganari frequently slip into the Material Plane, appearing on Earth or Bardor whenever the mood strikes them. Sometimes, they seek new guests to invite into their shrines, while other times, they simply wish to play tricks on unsuspecting mortals. Their pranks are harmless yet teasing, designed to fluster and amuse rather than cause harm. No matter where they roam, however, a Koganari's heart always remains tied to Elystria and the warmth of Goldie’s embrace.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Escaping them? Oh dear, you silly summer child. There is no escape. They can feel your soul, hear your breath, and see you in the darkest night. If they chase you, it is because it is fun for them.
— Nika, Shrine Maiden of Goldie
Koganari are exceptional hunters, gifted with their divine bodies and magic. They have no issues seeing in near-complete darkness, and their ears are exceptionally good, to the point of being able to hear the heartbeats of those around them. Most of them have not sharpened their senses the same as their mother, more preferring to play around in Elystria than to use their skills often.
