Dragons

Dragons exist in this world, in all shapes and sizes. With varied colors, breath weapons, and tooth and claw length, it is important to know all about them, starting with the basics.   Adult size: Around the size of a house.   Baby size (since hatching): About the size of a laundry basket. Eggs will hatch every year during springtime. Most eggs are laid in early fall.   Average claw/tooth size: 6 inches   About half of all adult dragons have horns.   Diet: Believe it or not, dragons are omnivores. They can eat almost anything, though they prefer meat of any kind   Habitat: Depends on the dragon subspecies   Like Skydweller humans, they are adjusted to life in the atmosphere and although they would not die if they came to ground level, they would be invalid for a few days.   Occasionally, a dragon egg will house twins. If this occurs, then the twins will share a special bond. Often referred to as the 'twin tracker', each twin will possess an internal compass that they can turn on and off to find each other's location.

Naming Traditions

All dragons have two names: their first, generally human-like name, and a second name, which is more dragonlike. Dragons can choose which name to go by. For example, the current dragon king, King Cedric, has the two names Cedric Skyraiser. He goes by Cedric. His firstborn son, Maddox Starcrest, uses the name Starcrest. Dragons do not have family names.
