City of Wonders

"...And there was another time that we were reading and I didn’t know what the word wonderstruck meant, but instead of just telling me, Mom and Dad decided to show me the City of Wonders.”
“City of Wonders?” Skylar asked, intrigued.
Olivia’s eyes twinkled excitedly. “Oh, I’ll have to show you sometime! Actually, they’re doing the new additions this year at the Midwinter Festival! That’ll be so fun! It’s amazing. Every four years, each of the Cities will build a new, amazing building! My personal favorite is this pyramid maze fashioned after the pyramids on land! No points for originality, but it has everything else. Anyway, there’s an entire city there! It’s amazing. Just building after stunning building - and all of them big enough for dragons! And every four years, we get seven new additions to the city, one for each of the Cities. Sometimes there’s a particular theme to the additions. A team of judges will decide which one is the best and that City will get a trophy - anyway, I’m rambling. I’ll tell you more about Mom and Dad now."

The City of Wonders is perhaps the most magnificent feature of the Skydweller world. Every single building is carefully designed and crafted in order to be as awe-inspiring as possible. They are grand, they are huge, and they are wonderful. Some of them are museums filled with fascinating exhibits. Some are luxurious hotels. Others are breathtaking gardens. Others still are simply mechanical wonders. Auditoriums with all your favorite shows, top of the line sports stadiums, restaurants with mouthwatering menus, high-grade simulation rooms, and more are all there. It's the best place to stay for a vacation or spend an hour with your friends.
As Olivia said, each City works on a new addition over the course of four years. Then, during the Midwinter Festival, there will be a Wonder Day, where the buildings become open to the public and are judged to determine whose addition was the best. It's a friendly competition and the perfect way to show off your city pride.
