Storm Pirate

There is a difference between a pirate and a Storm Pirate. That difference is brotherhood. Where a pirate would slash a crew members throat for the chance of treasure, a Storm Pirate would rather share the wealth. The Storm Pirates and the Talons share a similar origin story. Both were unhappy of the way that their lands were ruled. Though, while the Talons have their rules and structure, the Storm Pirates revel in anarchy. The Storm Pirates live in the Stormy Skies, mostly because nowhere else will take them. The storms suit them, however. A fitting environment for wild people.   The Storm Pirates are, indeed, pirates. They pillage villages and attack ships. However, they are not as savage and brutal as their reputation would leave them. They would rather leave a village standing than burn it. That way it can be raided again. However, evil pirates not associated with the Storm Pirates are often mistaken for the proper Storm Pirates. Several towns and villages are in the Stormy Sky which pay a fee to keep the Pirates from raiding them. Most of these villages consider themselves a part of the Storm Pirates and pay this fee as a tax. Though, no pirate would be caught dead calling this fee "Tax".   Most Storm Pirates are Krithian originally. Though the latest generation of Storm Pirates have been calling themselves Storm-born and do not claim any ethnicity other than Pirate. Vadathan's are common as well, but Moksons are rare. Taugata, Swassau, and Auscia are the next most common.

Military

There is no organized military in the Stormy Sky. Though, that is not to say the Storm Pirates are not protected. Every ship under the Pirates control is built as a war machine. The Pirates are also very skilled captains, having spent most of their time in the Stormy Sky. Should any enemy ship attack their towns, then at least five or six different ship captains will come to its aid.

Atop a Storm Ship

The most important aspect of the life of a Storm Pirate is the ship. Their airships are called Storm Ships and can be easily identified. They appear to be a mashup of several different Airships into one. The pirates often reinforce existing Airships with damaged ones or combine two or more destroyed airships into a larger, more stable version. At the head of the Storm Ship is the Captain. They act as the leader and core decision maker of the ship. Different ships have different expectations for ship captains. Some captains are ruthless leaders who rule with an iron fist, while others value brotherhood and comradery. Either way, a crew member is always free to leave a ship. Of course, it is up to a Captain if the crew member can join their ship. Rumors are easy to spread and a Storm Pirates reputation is easy to become tarnished.   Storm Ships are usually stocked with weapons and harpoons. Storm Ship crews prefer to use non-destructive tactics if possible. They are not afraid to kill, but will try to keep a ship afloat in order to take it as their own.

Appearance and personality

The Storm Pirates vary too much in their appearance to point out any similarities. Even two Krithians will look very different. Same with their personality. Storm Pirates can be just as kind as they are cruel.

Government

The Storm Pirates do not have a Government. They, in fact, take pride in their lack of it. However, they do have a leader. The leader of the Storm Pirates is whoever is the most powerful, simple as that. Anyone who gets a hold of a ship becomes a captain. A captain can then build a loyal crew. If this captain manages to get another ship, either through trade or pillaging, then they may declare one of their crew members to be an acting captain. When the Captain builds this fleet to be larger than any others, then most other Storm Pirates will follow them without hesitation.
