The History of Six Elements Balance so far

There have been nomadic human bands for hundreds of thousands of years, and some of them even left behind artifacts or semi-permanent settlements. However, little is known about them, as they did not have written histories, and their descendants are either dead or do not remember their stories.

Current Species & Cultures

There's no such thing as "current," when it comes to cultures. The world is going to slowly advance through time, as I work on individual eras.   There are four intelligent species on the planet: Humans, salamanders, burrowing owls, and lightning bugs. Humans are the vast majority of the population of the planet, and have a wide variety of cultures, technology levels, and interests.   Salamanders are bipedal amphibians who mostly live in swamps, marshes, and lakes. They are famed for their understanding of elemental Fire and Water magic, and represent the heart of the balance between the two elements.   Burrowing Owls are bipedal birds who live mostly in deserts, prairies, and the steppe. Their skill with elemental Air and Earth magic is impressive, and like Salamanders, they represent the balance between the two.   Lightning Bugs likewise represent a balance in the elements-- in their case, the balance between Light and Dark. They are bipedal insects with four arms, and tend to live primarily in forests, jungles, and lightly wooded areas. They are the second most populous species after humans, and are well known for their elemental magic, often framed by many cultures as cryptic prophets and soothsayers.
