Bahamut, often known by his most prominent title, the Platinum Dragon, is one of the oldest and most revered gods in existence. He is the deity of Metallic dragons and embodies the principles of merciful justice and wisdom.
Origins and Siblings:
Bahamut’s origin story is one of mystery and ancient legend. Alongside his sister Tiamat ,the queen of Chromatic dragons , and their lesser-known brother Saridor , the god of Gem dragon, the three dragon gods's egg's were created and hatched in unknown circumstances. After their birth, the three dragon gods chose different paths, with Bahamut ascending to Mount celestia , where he became recognized as one of The twelve elder gods after the fall of The first gods .
Forms and Appearances:
Bahamut is a shapechanger and enjoys observing mortals in various forms. His three most iconic forms are:
The Platinum Dragon: His original form, a gargantuan serpentine dragon over 50 meters long, with shimmering platinum scales. He is said to be the only dragon of his kind.
The Master of Flowers: A young and handsome monk accompanied by seven blue birds, often seen in peaceful, contemplative surroundings.
The Old Beggar: A form he uses to test the true nature of mortals, appearing as an old, tired person of the most common race in the area, often begging for coppers near his temples.
The Platinum Palace:
Bahamut’s divine domain, the Platinum Palace , sits in Mercuria , the second layer of Mount celestia . The palace is a sight to behold, constructed from platinum with crystal and gem windows. Its floors are made of mithral, and the inner walls are adorned with various metals associated with metallic dragons. The palace also contains portals to the Elemental plane of air and the other layers of Celestia.
Followers and Influence:
Bahamut is the patron of metallic dragons, many monastic orders, paladin orders, and good-aligned Dragonborn . He is also one of the primary gods worshiped in the kou empire . His followers see him as a symbol of justice, wisdom, and mercy, and his teachings emphasize kindness and the protection of the innocent.
Bahamut’s Hoard
As with all dragons, Bahamut possesses a vast hoard. His treasure is divided into three distinct parts, the Tribute Hoard: Gold, gems, and precious metals, mostly given by his followers as tributes, the Magic Item Hoard, A collection of powerful magic items that Bahamut occasionally lends to his champions in times of need.
The third is The most treasured part of his collection, consisting of artworks, poetry, feelings, wisdom, knowledge, and prophecies.
The Platinum Court:
At the head of Bahamut’s court are the Seven Gold @gr, the first seven gold dragons. This council of wise dragons serves as his closest advisors, providing insight and guidance on celestial and draconic matters.
Mercy and vigilance:
Despite his power and status, Bahamut is a merciful and kind god, avoiding bloodshed whenever possible. He prefers to polymorph his adversaries rather than destroy them—except those who attempt to steal from his hoard. He remains ever watchful of his sister Tiamat's schemes, constantly preparing to counter her machinations.
