Beshaba

Beshaba is a divine entity in Sirasea. Her preferred aspect is female. She was born as the result of a series of wager, made by Aris and Azzan. The final wager was a race to the bottom of the Nine Hells from the top of Mount Celestia, with each god carrying an enormous boulder. The fierceness of their competition caused disruption across both planes as well as the Material, and ultimately the wager ended in a tie. To prevent a repeat of the incident, they agreed to create two demigods to compete on their behalves, sculpted out of the boulders they had brought with them. Beshaba and her twin sister Tymora were born as a result.
Her epithets include Maid Misfortune and Black Bess. She is often represented as a pale skinned maiden with long black hair that nearly touches the ground. She is said to love her father Azzan's mischief and causes bad luck to suit her own whims. Gamblers with lengthly unlucky streaks are said to "have Bess' touch"; she is often placated by offerings of broken household items or small dishes of salt. She will teach her secrets to inquiring minds, but some of her bargains are said to have a devilish cast.
