Yrill Invention of the Hyperdrive

While the true origins of the Yrill species are unknown, the presapient ancestors of the Yrill species arrived on Yrik'k on a vast meteorite which triggered a fiery cataclysm that wiped out most of Vrik'k's native inhabitants.   In the eons since, the first primitive Yrill evolved and spread out over Vrik'k. Many civilizations prospered until they were united under a single commonwealth, the Vrik'k Commonwealth, and now with the invention of the hyperdrive, the Yrill stand ready to explore the galaxy.

The Dominion of the Yrill Commonwealths is the official title of the theocratic republic which governs over the Yrill species. Comprised of multiple semi-autonomous planetary commonwealths and the singular spatial Vrik'k Commonwealth, the Dominion's government takes the form of a parliamentary democracy.   Initially a spiritual and fanatically egalitarian culture, it is, perhaps, no surprise that the Yrill State expended a great deal of resource on memorializing civilizations and cultures of the past in order to preserve, study, and honor their legacy. The religious, albeit democratically elected, leader of the Dominion is referred to as the Seer Geomancer, a title which is bestowed, or reaffirmed, every ten solar revolutions.   The first Seer Geomancer to oversee the Dominions holistic expansion into space was an Azurite Yrill by the name of Ykt Okk Terrek. Although perhaps unimpressive in itself, it would nevertheless direct the Dominions first major interstellar efforts.
