HelioVoli (Aasimar)

Language: Enochian

General Information

Generally believed to have been the lands of the gods, the heliovoli were a strange people. With a mixture of proto-fiend blood, divine crafting by the gods they were shaped after, and the divine demi-god birthright. The heliovoli were arguably one of the most powerful nations in the first age as each was considered to be capable at their peak to almost a tenth of the god that they shared appearance withs power. Thus in some cases, many have noted time stopping powers, chaotic destruction of void magic, or far worse as gods rise and fall. One of the few races bound to their gods until that god has lost their divine power. The HelioVoli find themselves constantly fighting with those who serve their gods and want to rule over those who don't or with the dragons of the history books as it is well known that all gods below the beyond rank hated the dragons for their divine like capabilities and constant worship.

Cities

Here we will show the maps of the kingdoms, duchies and lands throughout each of the ages.

First Age

Wormwood Rest

Said to be far to the west of the majority of the ores within the territory. Wormwoods Rest finds itself on top of the resting place of a forgotten elemental being, said to have once been a gloom dragon that had been slain by a powerful raider from the storm jotun lands. The city now specializes in harvesting and crafting magical items with dragon products. Having a large underdark entrance at the center of the mountain, the city seems to have adapted to send squads down daily with large parades and feasts happening for those lucky few who return. The city is said to be home to all those who had lost their gods or whos masters had failed to become truly divine in nature. With the vast amount of the city designed to fit the more practical and simplistic design, little art or creativity can be found within the nation. The city is considered by many traveling smiths as "The Copy Cat" city for its ability to see any craft and replicate it instantly, however never being able to design an original piece. The city is also oddly known for its rare breed of mimic cats that have grown to live amongst humans feeding on scraps of metal and occassional lesser magic items.

Technology periods

Here we shall discuss the main technological discoveries by this race.

The Copy Cat Nation

Legendary are those who live amongst the HelioVoli in the smithing world, for they are masters of all crafts that they see but none that are new. Thus making the nation a unique class of replicas that cannot copy other HelioVoli but only the arts of those who are the same race as their creators. The HelioVoli are said to be one of the few races gifted with such a high degree of understanding that anyone can teach them the most complicated craft, however if you expect for the craft to continue beyond what you can teach, you will find yourself like many other hopeful smiths, disappointed and wanting for more.

Hierarchy

Here we shall discuss how the overall ladder of power is designed in this races territories.

Regin

After the conquest of Og Brightwing against the majority of the lesser groups of HelioVoli that had gathered together, it is said that Og would declare the Storm Jotun the rightious born to the world and adapt many of their terms. As it translates roughly to gods or powers, many believe this term to have meant the most powerful amongst the storm giants. But the actual translation in common would later be found as “One who uses the Towers power to live long”. It is believed that the Grunaga clan are the discoverers of this great and ancient tower, and that with the help of Ogeron, the towers full potential would be unleashed during the giant civil war and the helgrind war. Time would go on though, and this title would come to be the common term for the king of the giants, or God of Giants as many other scholars believe it translates to.

Vikingr

After the conquest of Og Brightwing against the majority of the lesser groups of HelioVoli that had gathered together, it is said that Og would declare the Storm Jotun the rightious born to the world and adapt many of their terms. Also known as sky pirates in common, the Vikingr were an elite military unit even amongst the storm giants main military units. They specialized in capture, infiltration, and raiding. It should be especially noted that while many believed the storm giants to be conquerors, this was incorrect. The truth of the matter is that storm giants cannot reproduce fast enough to replace many of their numbers, let alone expand. Thus they became extremely well trained in hit and run tactics. Causing the storm giants to be the most adaptable military of the older races. The title Vikingr would come from the term Sky Pirate as the lesser races saw big clouds flowing down to the ground with twenty to thirty vikingr aboard. They would quickly attack, tie their victims down with a strange ore called rodinn stone, and vanish within minutes of the initial attack. They were also nicknamed the “Wolves of the Clouds” for these tactics.

Drengr

After the conquest of Og Brightwing against the majority of the lesser groups of HelioVoli that had gathered together, it is said that Og would declare the Storm Jotun the rightious born to the world and adapt many of their terms. A term in giant that roughly means gallant fellow or warrior when translated to common. Many believe that every storm giant was a warrior which is where this term got its translation. But the actual meaning is believed to be in reference to the fact that every storm giant culturally it taught how to fight and be brave. Which translated to the battlefield, but as many storm giants lived normal lives of trade and commerce, the lesser races considered all storm giants to be raiders as none had seen the peaceful cities before.

Prott-Lauss

After the conquest of Og Brightwing against the majority of the lesser groups of HelioVoli that had gathered together, it is said that Og would declare the Storm Jotun the rightious born to the world and adapt many of their terms. A term used to refer to those without strength, or as the storm giants used this primarily for, dragons. This term would be adopted differently however by the HelioVoli to refer to those amongst the slave class within their society that served the many clans who had risen to power. This term was believed to refer to anyone that was not a heliovoli and bore a chain tattoo mark under either eye.

Nobility

Here we shall discuss notable noble houses through the time periods.

Regin Og Brightwing

The first heliovoli in the lands of silencia. Created by Ogeron himself in order to lead armies of heliovoli against his son. Brightwing would later get his name during a battle against Faltharn's Shields of New Mana. In which his wings were set aflame as he charged the ranks of the rebels in hopes of slaying Faltharn. It is said that Og was as strong as Ogeron and even faster then the old storm jotun. Many have stated that the two looked almost as if a mirror of the past and future, with Og's impressively storm jotun features. Having stood at 24ft tall and with bright yellow lightning marks burnt to a darkened black all across his body. Og was notorious for his oath taker divine powers, having manage to slay hundreds in a carnage to gain his rank amongst the many Heliovoli who had tried to unite the lands. With his strangely angelic and perky personality, Og is noted as having been one of the few rulers of the time to be a strong believer in physical training even amongst his knights. Keeping the nobles at the top of their physical capabilities, Og would not allow anything less to serve in his realm. A leader who when he saw interest in you, he would make you the best you can be and train you to the extreme. Many have stated that Og Brightwing was more drill instructor then king, but he ruled through the fear of what he put others through to glimpse the near irrefutable difference in ability between himself and those who served.

Military

Regin Og Brightwing

Noted as having an army of around 12,000 Vikingrs, 7 lesser Regins, and around 5,000 slaves that can be mobilized.

Events/Holidays

We shall begin to discuss notable holidays and events in this culture. Explaining further on where they come from and what goes on during them.

Religious beliefs

Here we shall discuss the different religious beliefs in this races history throughout the periods.   With Aasimar the religious beliefs have never really changed throughout history. Most of the time they have served the god that created them. However, every Aasimar cannot help but feel a tad empty for some reason, as if they are missing a piece of them that even the gods cannot fill. What is worth mentioning here is that Aasimar have at one point served demons as well. With the fact that they tended to be rarer, but some have been ensnared or fallen to the corruption of the demonic forces of Mors. Most of these demons however have seemed to come from far off areas of Mors. These areas are rarely explored or mapped out, one must wonder if the gods who rule this domain have any idea of such powerful beasts existing.

Known diseases

Here we shall discuss known diseases to be active and/or discovered or cured during the different time periods of these races

Angelic corruption

The angelic corruption disease shows in most aasimar and those related species when their bodies start to show black tendrils all over the body. The disease begins slightly lessening the mana output and slowly increases the loss of mana to the victim. The aasimars eyes will go fully black, the skin will turn a pale green and if they have wings as part of the final stage the aasimar will lose its wings. They will start to wilt and finally break off. All that will be left when the disease runs its course is a black tendrilled, black eyed, green skinned demonic looking humanoid who is driven to madness to continue attacking anything it sees without pain or fear.

Reaging

Although extremely rare, reaging has been known to happen to those of the aasimar species. This happens when an aasimar hits a certain age and begins to age backwards suddenly or can suddenly become physically a random age i.e from 76 physically to 16 in a nights sleep. The aasimar is then stuck this way until they are killed or they lose all mana. At which point the body will age extremely fast and then turn to dust and mesna. A cure has yet to be found and it is unknown what causes the disease at this point.

With a base walking speed of 30ft and a base flying speed of 45ft.

Founding

Here we shall explain when the race came to be, how it came to be, and whom it is credited to and where.   The Aasimar race is a rather unique race compared to all those who have come before and after them. Now while they do not formally control any kingdoms, or lands whatsoever, the race does run some of the greatest mercenary companies history has ever seen. Not only mercenary companies but also holy orders, and temple guards. Yes, to be an aasimar means you are good at two things, being holy and the pinnacle of your gods beliefs, and to be good at violence.
However, when the race was first created and how they came to be is still a mystery. Aasimar come in all sizes, but all share a general devil like appearance with strange markings reflecting the gods they worship. Aasimar unlike other races do not breed but are crafted and created by the gods in the image that best suits the needs of their believers. Good examples of this are Aasimar created by Nix Riversong might look more human and always have a calm nature, while those created by Logulthis tend to be more lich like and demonic with a raging battle cry and constantly calculating their next move. Due to this, no formal race has been recognized by our organization.
The last thing we would like to mention is that not all aasimar are created by the gods. Some have been on rare occasions created through higher magic, Himin’s aasimar technically would be created by his great and powerful magic. This is due to the fact that he is not formally recognized as a god even to his own people and never ascended to a gods position. And on rare circumstances, mortals of lesser magical ability have been able to craft aasimar as well or their likes. One supposedly was crafted by Zilpip “The Smallest Dragon” KungPowe, in which he crafted him after himself and granted him all the abilities of his own. Though some argue that this is more homunculi, the Champions of Pyrus are in full agreement that this creation is by all accounts equal to Himin’s aasimar protectors.
