Hierarchy

Here we shall discuss how the overall ladder of power is designed in this races territories.

Rulers

Anyone can become ruler according to nephilim law, the only thing standing in your way is a 60-40 vote from the council. The rulers serve for life, or until the council believes 100% that they need to be dethroned. According to one ancient law however, if a person kills the king and council they may take the throne. However that law is long been lost to the nephilim people, and only major historians know anything about it.

Noble Houses

Each noble house is ranked on a number system going from 1-15 based on power, lands, and how many times they have gained a council position. A quick fact to know is that houses can be eliminated, it hasn’t happened since the loss of house Virtue but it can happen again. When such a thing does happen the house is then replaced by the one who took it over and they choose who rules it. The person that is chosen then gets to found their own house and takes control of whatever lands are granted to them by the winner.

Nobility

Here we shall discuss notable noble houses through the time periods.

Rulers

King Forani
Forani is a member of house Serephim but is the product of marriage between a member of Serephim and a member of Atho. This has caused a lot of controversy over the matter since the two houses are constantly at war. Forani favors fire magic for its destructive properties, but uses his wind and lightning spells to help boost his fire power. Forani is a medium built man with a large purple beard that he dyes every week to keep the color matching his clothing. Forani is known to be a just king and very calm, they say he got the best of the two houses, being that serephim is always so hard headed and strong and atho is calm and collective with their thinking. Forani has only been king for around 50 years now and so far hasn’t pissed off any of the houses. He has one rule and that is that he allows the houses to do pretty much what they want as long as they don’t harm the capital and are prepared to send troops at a moment’s notice. His daughter Yvint.

Council members

Azurn of house Serephim
Azurn is a corrupt and powerful man, they say his strength rivals that of the kings. However Azurn has many family issues and believes his older brother in the north to be unworthy of his current position. Azurn has been leading the front lines against house Atho and doesn’t understand why his brother has not been able to take out Juan in the north. Azurn believes his brother to be weak and foolish, and is currently plotting to kill him.
Michael of house Jehoshaphat
They call him the general of the nephilim, his prowess in battle has lead many of the older members of the noble houses to fear house Jehoshaphat. Michael is rarely seen in the council chambers for he is always in battle or doing something in his own territory, he claims that “the king doesn’t need his help to figure out which part of the crown to wipe his ass with”. Michael is a blond, tall and blue eyed boy, he is the perfect son according to most of the nephilim people. He is strong and unforgiving just like how a lord and king should be. Some fear however that he is planning to take back his father’s throne, many rebels have started appearing and claiming his name as the true king of the nephilim people.
Grigori of house Azazal
Their leader Grigori is a slim built woman and very tall. She is about 225 years old. Grigori has made much progress in the water magic field; she has the ability to summon an army of almost 400 water nymphs, which is unheard of. Out of all the water nephilims, Grigori is the most dangerous because she has had some lessons from the Toth and realized that blood and water are close. She is currently working on trying to teach nymphs to use the water in blood against her opponents.
Zaccheus of house Wormwood
Zaccheus is a normal built man who prefers furs and animal hides to cloaks and fancy clothing. Most when they first see Zaccheus mistaken him for a snow bear or caveman. Zaccheus is strong, and has massive arms from his days as a youth that he spent cutting down trees and carving ice with his hands and chisel. Zaccheus is very strong in ice magic, and has been known to freeze people and turn them into statues.
Sariel of house Sariel
Sariel is the second of her family to be named after the house so her name is Sariel Sariel. She has blonde hair and is curvy and tall, she is also known for her very loud and manipulative voice. Sariel has one of the prettiest singing voices of the world, but she can change her pitch at any given moment, which sometimes scares many to hear her natural high pitched soothing voice go to a very monotone deepened voice. Sariel is however very aggressive with her stance toward house cherobim for she believes them to be too powerful and in need of being cut down a bit. She is not afraid to threaten anyone on the council or the king, however most think that the king has fallen for her charm and that is why she continues on the council.
Jon of House Cherobim
Jon is unknown to the council since he prefers to send an ambassador that he speaks through using some sort of ancient mind magic. Jon was taken and spent most of his life in house Serephim’s stronghold, after he was captured during a small skirmish between the two houses. Jon became a squire of sorts for Azurn and soon learned all about their magic. One major characteristic of Jon’s is that he is extremely shy.

Military

Here we will discuss any specific military information   Unlike the other races in the world, the nephilims military is set up on a squad basis. There are no massive legions or armies, each lord or lady’s house has their own armies [whether standing or not]. Otherwise as a nation the nephilim have many squads that are sent out all over the world to “take care of things”. These squads consist of over a hundred, different squads and range in members from 3-20 depending on the job that squad has. In the north however they only have 10 squads.

Wars

Here we shall discuss the notable wars for each period and who they were against.   The wars listed here are the only major wars in the north; wars between houses are too many and therefore are rarely recorded as such.

Days of Demons [eclipse war]

During these times there were only 4 houses: House Virtue was run by Hanses the second strongest of the four houses. This house prayed to Nero and craved power above all things. The house is recorded to have started a war with house Cassiel. Hanses was a young upstart with power no one had seen in ages. At the age of 38 Hanses was the new ruler of his house after killing two sisters a brother and his father. Hanses main magic was blood magic, which he learned from a Toth high priest. He also knew water and metal magic along with mind manipulation. He was of a large build and weighed in at around 200 lbs with little fat. The boy said he was Nero’s true son and would vanquish all those who did not worship him.
House Cassiel at the time was l run by a man named Serip, a kind old man of the age of 425. Serip’s main magic was in Fire, but he learned a lot in mind magic and Air. The house was the most powerful at the time and worshipped there lord Set who was always carved with bright yellow eyes. They called themselves the Time Keepers and were the arch enemies of house Virtue.
House Serephim was run by Cassandra, the sister of Serip. At that time the house was the weakest of the four and barely had any lands. They were newly founded and had just begun to build a place for themselves in the north and south. Cassandra was a lovely woman with gold hair, fair skin and and a gorgeous body. She was also as smart as a whip. But she was supposed to be promised to Hanses, even though she was 200 years old. Instead Serip had his sister found a house and gave her a place in his council which meant she could not marry another member on the council.
House Olorun was the third strongest and was run by a man named Thoron. Thoron was chubby at the age of 374. He was a well-known warrior and very powerful. It was said he rivaled even Hanses’s power. Thoron was actually Hanses cousin and was actually attracted to the man. Thoron had founded the house in the name of his cousin’s father, Olorun, which also translates into Norse as “light bringer”. But when Thoron heard what had happened with Hanses’s betrothed he flipped and started gathering an army to which the nephilim rarely saw.
Now with these four houses and there many issues arising, Hanses decided it was time for a king of the nephilim. See back then the nephilim were run by a council and only elected a king during war, which was rare. Now Hanses with all his new power and house Olorun in his pocket decided he would launch an attack on both north and south. Well with Thoron in the south, half of house Virtue’s army went and tried to take the capitol in the southern continent. Hanses saw to it himself to lead the northern forces against Serephim in the south.
Three weeks later the north belonged to Hanses but Thoron did not have such luck. See Thoron was big and strong but he lacked a tactful mind and lost the army within a week of marching on house Cassiel’s ancient home. Thoron was put to death and his head was sent to Hanses with a warning saying:
If you come south you shall be next boy. If you do not wish to see more heads sent north then you will send me my sister.
Hanses didn’t take to kindly to this and marched his whole army south across the sea. They say he built a bridge of ice all the way to the southern kingdom, using the blood of the fallen. But once Hanses got there Serip was waiting for him on the shores. Serip was alone and had cast a spell that would send Hanses and his army into another dimension, but what Serip didn’t know was that it was Nero who taught him the spell and that it was actually going to kill him. With Serip’s own blood he sent Hanses and his entire army into Abaddon never to be heard from again.
Sadly it was too late for his sister; after Serip realized what he had truly done he learned one final truth. His sister had been raped by Hanses and she was now with child. In Serip’s final words he told his sister that the child must live, for one day it would be his blood that would be required to banish the ancient demons of house Virtue. After Serip passed his sister gave birth to a healthy boy, his name was Atho and was later charged with creating the house Atho in his uncles name.
To this day many believe that Hanses was morphed during the wars into a demon. They say at the end of the war that he appeared to be a Nephilim but he fall to the depths of the rift and feasted on demons therefore becoming one himself. It is not known whether this is all true or not but it was recorded in history that way. However there are many different folklores that say Hanses was born a spawn of a Selth demon, or that if he didn’t rape you he feasted on your soul after defeating you.
After this very few wars happened in the northern history books. However there have been many wars in the southern empire and continue to be more as times got worse.

Events/Holidays

We shall begin to discuss notable holidays and events in this culture. Explaining further on where they come from and what goes on during them.

Marriage

Typically the nephilim royalty marry to gain alliances with other houses and/or move their houses up in the world. Many marriages are predetermined from birth, and others are set up to keep the peace. However there is one rule that you can’t marry another council member if you already are one. Among the common people they marry whoever their parents see fit. A rule of thumb is that a daughter cannot marry without her father’s approval and a son cannot marry without his mother’s approval.

Founding

Here we shall explain when the race came to be, how it came to be, and whom it is credited to and where.   While much of the lore is lost on these beings, we have recently come to understand the true origin of the Helio and the Voli race. Once a single being known as the Heliovoli to which are created in our gods own images, the race of the helio and voli both come from a similar being. However instead of the gods or giants creating them, powerful dragons would. Infusing their own heliovoli with great draconic magic.
As the years went on, during our age of corruption in which we hear tales of Stone the Corrupt and the beginnings of his grand scheme. The dragons of Incremia would also meet to discuss what to do with the world. One suggestion was the creation of what we now know as the Dyr’co. Others came to the decision of their own and would create five other races, the Toth, Testudala, Tuortas, The Vedan ,and Ogres. However, the oldest dragon known simply as Cecidit would declare that with all five races and his own creation of the draconic Heliovoli. They would reopen the tear between the two worlds and invade. Reclaiming their rightful place in the worlds of both Silencia and Incremia.
Unfortunately for the great dragon council the draconic heliovoli now as powerful as they were would rebel. This rebellion would last from the age of corruption until the end of the age of chaos. In which the dragons would be hunted down and either killed or captured. This would lead to a last ditch effort by the remaining dragons, those wisest and most powerful who had managed to decimate any who dared challenge them. Outnumbered and weakened, the dragons would sacrifice their lives in a grand blood ritual which would split the two beings in half. Creating the Helio and Voli, this would also give full independence to the other races which would grow to covet the power that both the helio and voli had been granted. For in them ran the blood of the original rulers and their power.
To this day the Helio and Voli are hunted by those who still know of the tales of the dragons and their great power. And though the beings are separated, much of the magic seems to remain to this day in both races. The Helio showing much more in their ability to cast spells of a distance and their studies of the arcane arts. While the Voli seem to focus their magic into physical enhancements and the training of martial arts. The two would split further during the great Demon wars, as the houses fought for power of the kingdom. This would conclude in Hanses being banished to the land they called Abbadon or as we call it Mors. This would see the two races differ even more as time went on. Giving the modern distinctness of the two species who were once one.
