General Physical Condition

Ryxes is an above-average fitness level for the Teplin as well as being on the taller side for the species.

Body Features

He has mostly white feathers on his body, arms, and legs. The tips of his wings are marked with black feathers and has a small black-feather pattern on his chest. The feathers on his head often produce a spiky-look in comparison with most Teplin's softer-looking heads. The feathers on his body are also more coarse.

There is a simply pattern on Ryxes's chest made up of black, coarse feathers.

Physical quirks

Ryxes's wings are slightly bigger than the normal Teplin's wings. He has, on rare occasions, managed to take off and sustain flight.

Overview

Ryxes was a diplomat and interstellar racer. He focused a lot of his efforts on building relations through friendly challenges meant to bring people together. He, to that effect, always took up a challenge when it was thrown his way. While he doesn't win 100% of the challenges, he is always a good sport about losing and will always promise to re-challenge the winner.
Before the outbreak of the war, he put his name into the ring of the 1st Interstellar Race which would have been essentially a galaxy-wide Grand Prix. However, with the assassination of the Twilight Elf religious leader, the race was cancelled as the Qual Confederacy and Evercall Pact withdrew their support from the race. Ryxes left the starting point, which was in the Qual's territory, to return home before the war actually broke out.

Early Life (0-10)

Ryxes grew up in a small home with a loving family. Being the youngest of three, he always admired his older siblings. From engineering prowess to molecular ingenuity, Ryxes was determined to master a place that neither of his siblings could touch: flying. While they could all glide, Ryxes was the only one determined to really bring out the flight in the Teplin race.
However, tried as he might, Teplin just can't fly. Their smaller wings make it difficult to sustain any form of flight. So, he opted for flying in ships. He began learning these at the age of seven with heavily monitored instruction but, as he grew older (and taller) he was actually allowed to fly real crafts.

Teenage Life(10-18)

During his teen years, Ryxes grew very found of diplomacy and how it worked. He often times would watch the airings of politicians from his home world to the Evercall Congress to the Qual Confederacy speeches to the Etherians' various rulers. He was fascinated by the machines at work and put to work, between flying and school, to learn how to weave a political relationship.
To say the least, it was a bit awkward as Teplin are not accustomed to one-on-one speech but when it came to crowds, Ryxes was able to outclass most of his opponents. At school, of course; the Teplin was too young to actually run for Evercall Congress or his own people's government. Outside of flying, he attended many speech and debate-style clubs to try and work on his one-on-one skills.

College Life(18-21)

Ryxes entered university declared as a Bachelors of Science in Interstellar Relations and another degree in Linguistics. He continued training as a pilot in his spare time as the degree was not very intensive towards his time. Nothing much happened during his college years other than almost being arrested for racing. Twice.

Early Adult Life(21-Current)

After graduating with both degrees, and having two pilot licenses, he left to join the Evercall interstellar relations board. He was put on inter-state relations and found the best way to talk to people, especially Gorhask, is by offering friendly challenges. He organized several inter-state competitions for racing (that are now suspended thanks to a certain war) and competed in them regularly.
He, on a more serious note, was very good at negotiating and settling interstate issues. Ryxes, after about two years of building up his credibility, was allowed to join the interstellar committee in talking with the Qual Confederacy. He employed similar tactics here but started after working up warmth between him and officials with the Qual. He tried to make as many friends as he could to organize a mini-race comprised of equal parts Evercall and Qual.
Ryxes, before the war, spent the remaining three years attempting to help build relations with the Qual. However, with the assassination, all three years went to waste as Ryxes was called home for war.
The war gave him an opportunity to begin his hunt. He enlisted in the military shortly before the first shots were fired, hoping to get into the flight divisions.

Failures & Embarrassments

• Ryxes mixed up Ghorhask and Gesroch history during a Semi-Final in front a live audience.
• Ryxes struggled to comprehend Tyvir despite mastering Galactic Basic.
• The first race Ryxes lost was because he was hungover and passed out during one of the sections trying to overtake the race leader.
• Ryxes lost a very close friend and mentor.

Mental Trauma

The Teplin fears, above all, isolation. He seeks to be with some people if not just to be around them. He does not need to be talking or really interacting but just needs to be around people.

Intellectual Characteristics

Upon first contact, Ryxes is reserved and watchful. He waits to actually begin speaking once someone else has started. From there, his personality changes to try and fit the situation needed. Compared to other Teplins, he is at least semi-competent at speaking to people one-on-one.

Taboos

Ryxes is certainly not a fan of the orthodox. While he does not mind using conventional methods, if they pose a greater risk, he is willing to do what he can outside the conventional norm. He will actively bring up other possible solutions if he can that he believes will work better.
Ryxes abhors the idea of abandoning those who have helped him. While he will act in self-preservation, he refuses to abandon aiding parties. They are the reason he is standing there so he must also act to help them in their time of need.
The Teplin fears, above all, isolation.

His speech begins measured and calculated, appearing almost cold at times. However, once he feels comfortable around the person/people he is talking to, he will be far more lively, boisterous, and talkative.
