Whitereach

The deceptively beautiful meadowlands with leaf trees and rolling hills, soon gave way to evergreens and looming, snow-topped peaks across the vast arctic lake. Beyond those peaks lay the mythical remnants of the old Dragonlands, it's mysteries having been left untouched by time and mortal men for centuries, for there were few who ventured into those frozen reaches, and returned to tell anything resembling a cohesive tale of what it was they saw there.

Summary

The stretch of land known as Whitereach lies on a peninsula bordered to the north by mountain ranges, Dalestride to the west, Redvale to the east, and Kharemjun to the south. Originally it was a frontier kingdom settled by men of old Aisvalon, who ventured into the oddly fertile, mysterious lands north of Kharemjun. The desert kingdom still considered the territory as theirs to claim, and as such, skirmishes and border disputes were not uncommon in the founding days of that kingdom.
Being so far removed from it's founding Kingdom, Whitereach soon found it's independence from Aisvalon, though it maintains close cultural and diplomatic ties to that southern Kingdom. The Capital of Morrowhill still stands as a stark contrast to the otherwise rural settlements of the far north, being built in the gleaming style of Aisvalon's magnificent cities.

Governance

Whitereach is unique in Avander, in that it serves as a landbridge between the continent, and the lost, mythical empire that lies beneath the ice in the lost north. True indeed, to the far north in Whitereach, there are still remnants of that empires ancient past, with the Draconians gilded spires looming beneath the glaciers and frozen seas. Whitereach is governed by a hereditary Monarchy, it's lineage stretching back to it's founding days, when Lord Ivan first planted the flag of his liege upon the fertile soils of the north. Geography and Climate

Whitereach is an oddity in terms of it's climate, lying so close to the deserts of Khaan, wich stretch into a narrow patch of land at it's southern border towards Kharemjun
