Mage

The third most common Class in Mu's Magic system after Fighters and Rogues. Mages as a class source their magic from their studies and manipulations of Domains, rather than Spirtualists who are dependent on magical beings to fuel their magic. This means Newcomers to the class are called Apprentices.
Subclasses:
The various specialties typically organize into Colleges, where the Mages can adventure out and return with new knowledge to fill out with new magics they encountered or created.   Conjurer: Conjurers use the domains of Space, Time and Matter to either create or summon objects and creatures that have been bound to their wills.

Diviners: Diviners function as both remote viewing specialists as well as attempting to divine the future. they're the college most steeped in the old ideas of magic. using tarot cards, star positions, and even astrolabes, to determine what might happen next. Diviners are the most capable of analysis of large amounts of information.

Elementalist: Elementalists are mages that focus on studying what one could see as the building blocks of the world. Many of this subclass draw upon the old European view of the four elements (Earth, Water, Air, Fire), while others base their studies on the 5 elements of Chinese origin.

Illusionist: Illusion mages use the Domains of Light and Shadow to create short-lived effects to distract their enemies. some have even been able to create illusory daggers that cause real damage.    Necromancers: Necromancy is an uncommon discipline as many people find studying corpses and the process of death to be too much, but for those who can ignore it, may find themselves raising the dead and crafting new minions from the leftovers of monsters.    Ritualist: Ritualists are generalist mages, who seek as many domains to draw power from. This leaves their base of knowledge wide, but typically shallow. Ritualists also get their name from being able to perform elaborate rituals that can generate effects that normal spellcasting can't achieve.   Spellblade: Spellblades focus on weaving magic and steel together in their combat style. While never as powerful as a pure Mage or Fighter, they make up for it with sheer versatility. their unpredictability and general skill in melding the two skill sets make them particularly dangerous for those who underestimate them.     Technowizard: Technowizards are wizards who embrace modern technologies and reject the ancient ideas of magic and seek to make their own. often using smartphones and computers to compile their knowledge and spells. This College often creates much of the new magic coming out of humanity.
