War of the Falling Stars

The War of the Falling Stars occured in ancient times, when the ancient scholars of the elves and the astrologers of the Nirati first noted that the constellations representing many major deities had disappeared from the sky.
At the same time, peculiar individuals began appearing in multiple locations all over the world. These strange beings claimed to be gods and demonstrated mastery of many strange abilities. They quickly rose to positions of prominence and came in conflict with one another.

These newcomers associated in factions, and they and their followers did battle across the globe. The final culminating battle took place in the homeland of Elvendom , when the deity Daliereon consumed the deity Halieurox, destroying both of them in what is now referred to as the Storm of White Fire. The entirety of the mainland was laid barren and became the The Elven Wastes.

The resulting tsunami reset the boundaries of the world, flooding coastlines, shattering mountains, and sinking vast tracts of land below the waves. The destruction of coastal areas began the fall of the Nirati empire.
