Lady Irene Sânge
Said to be blessed by the Old Gods, Lady Irene is one of the most well recorded figures in the history Azoth. Recollections of her are so numerous they rival the written notes of royalty. She was born into the infamous Sânge family, a group of such dubious and frightening individuals that they were transformed into vampires by the nightmares of their own people. Despite the reputation of her family and her own vampiric transformation, she could still hear the voices of the old god Chaoxing, guiding her down the path that would lead her to fight against He Who Sleeps Beneath. After her battle with the abomination, it's said she disappeared right before she was named the leader of the S.L.E., never to be seen again. She was never announced as dead, though it's been theorized by scholars what happened to her. Perhaps she left to go on another saintly quest or decided that her skills were no longer needed in a world that was no longer under threat. She is widely regarded as a hero and sometimes even a saint. One can only wonder how these dreams have transformed Lady Irene, who now has a century of people deifying her...

Irene is the youngest out of three siblings, the main heirs to the Sânge family. Her older sister was meant to be the next head of the family, so her brother encouraged her to follow what she was interested in. Despite who her father was, she recalled not knowing most of her family very well since she became apart of the knights of Şanţ at a young age.

Despite being born into the Sânge family, who traditionally worships the god of blood and magic Istyx, Irene was said to be a worshipper of Chaoxing and Agma. She claimed she was carrying out Chaoxing's will specifically, once even mentioning that he now refers to himself as 'Evander'.
