Caffeinehagen University Adventuring Society
The adventuring society's real mission is to find and retrieve artifacts that have been taken from their cultural homes and are displayed in museums, or kept in rich people's houses. They then return these artifacts, anonymously, to their cultural homes. They work with various other societies to create replicas of these items, which they leave in place of the original items. They have a front as a LARPing society. If the group approaches them at the freshers' fair, the leader will speak to them, and give them a coded invitation to a secret meeting where the real nature of the society will be revealed.
At the meeting, they will sternly lay out the mission of the society, and will give anyone who isn't brave enough to take part in real adventures the opportunity to leave. Some NPCs will leave, stating that they just wanted to do some LARPing. The leaders will switch tone, and tell them about a great LARPing group they sometimes go to, and invite them to go to it.
Someone will continue, believing that it is in fact a LARPing group, and the "real adventures" thing is just there to up the immersion level.
The group have an unknown patron, who gives them the locations of various artifacts to liberate.
As part of freshers' week, there are some initiation tasks for the players to join the adventuring society:
- A treasure hunt type activity, with a series of clues leading to a tattoo place
- Getting a tattoo - the tattoos are magical and allow the members of the group to telepathically speak to each other. Range - 120 feet
- Ari Mas - Changeling Rogue (Mastermind)
- Ilkan Longleap - Goliath Barbarian (Wild Magic)
- Runk Skunklung - Goblin Ranger (Swarmkeeper)
