The Geysers of Tyrg

Describe a geographically or meteorologically unstable region of your world
The north of the land of Tyrg is home to a volcanic region. The traveler may encounter mud pots (pits of boiling mud, either slow-moving or actively throwing globules of hot mud into the air), steaming ponds or streams, areas of mineral encrustation, or even active geysers.
Many in Chrenada have of course never seen such phenomena and are quick to dismiss reports of these as travelers' fancies or exaggerations. They are, however, quite real.
