One out of the three licensed physicians working within Ubersreik, Eva Madelung works from the Physician’s Guild at the city’s Marktplatz, on the opposite end of the market square from the Temple of Shallya, with her own office and consultation room, and has replaced the young Doktor Bernhardt Bayer after he was last seen "floating down the Teufel".
A woman in her early thirties, Eva is said to have served at the Imperial Court, although she speaks little of such. Born, raised, and taught in Altdorf, she arrived in the city shortly after the Altdorfer State Army seized it, which is unlikely to be a coincidence. Almost obsessed with cleanliness, her clothes appear to be remarkably free of bloodstains (for a physician, anyways).
While known to be extremely skilled in her craft, the Altdorfer troops appear to be wary of her, primarily due to reports of how one of their kind died on her table at the hands of one of her apprentices – Liebwin Euler, whom works under her, still, even if he has been on thin ice ever since.
She insists, however, that she is more skilled than her colleagues at the guild, both the aging master Otto Krupp and the bookish Theodosia Grat, whom she studied with. Her interests appear, atypically for a physician, to be primarily in the scientific aspect of her work, rather than the coin to be made, which give her credit in the eyes of the people and her colleague Theodosia - albeit less so of the guildmaster Otto Krupp, whom occupies himself more with the advertisement of the guild's services and stomping unlicensed physicians into the ground than his actual patients.
