also the only ones who can make/imbue magical items  

based heavily on ritual, verbal, and material components of the natural world

often practice certain kinds of old wives' alchemy

witches may have small healing magic, but it's usually a trade and is more sympathetic than actual healing

  - can augment the natural healing properties of natural herbs and such
