Universal Magical Laws

There are some laws and rules that exist within all types, disciplines, and schools of magic.

intention is the most powerful and important component to casting. It informs the rules of magic itself.

superstition is real and effective because of the belief behind it.  A cross might work on a vampire because the wielder believes that it will.  The belief and conviction in a thing informs the power and execution of said thing.

in this way, with proper intent, conviction, and will, natural laws can be overcome or broken allowing for limitations or natures to be exceeded or changed.  This always incurs a significant cost that may not always be readily apparent, but will never the less come due without exception.
