Okichitaw
This combat style was based on the Cree style of combat
blended with Judo and Tae Kwon Do. For the NAN,
it became basic training for the military. For the Sioux,
it’s mandated as part of the required year of service
before advancing to Wildcat training. The main weapons
used with this martial art are the Gunstock War club
and long knife; the styles also cover unarmed combat
techniques based on hand positions with these weapons.
Other weapons learned with Okichitaw are the
tomahawk and plains dagger.
