JoAnn Conolly Character in Shadowrun: Englewood | World Anvil

JoAnn Conolly

JoAnn Conolly is the most famous reporter for KSAF, which got its start as a small independent television station in Chicago in the 90s. Since the Awakening, though, they've gone nationwide, and their knack for having a reporter in the right city before a big event takes place has lead many to whisper that they must have a patron with some kind of abilities of divination.   JoAnn was scouted by KSAF when she was in college. As a freshman journalist student, she came on as an intern, and luck (or fate?) would have it that she was in front of the camera when the Sears Tower fell. Her immediate coverage of the disaster made her famous, and she's used that reputation to stand out from the crowd of reporters who are mostly working for one Megacorp or another.
Socially, a journalist fits in somewhere between a whore and a bartender. But spiritually she stands beside Galileo. She knows the world is round. Well, socially I fit in just fine between the whore and the bartender. Both are close friends. And I knew the world was round. Yet, as time goes by I find myself confronted with the ugly suspicion that the world is, after all, flat and that there are things dark and terrible waiting just over the edge to reach out and snatch life from the unlucky, unwary wanderer.
