George Mathers

George Mathers is career paper pusher. He fell into a job with Aztechnology in their security division, and it was there that he began to cultivate an extensive network of contacts and favors, using his position to advance himself financially and politically. Seeing an opportunity, he moved from Fuchi security to Eagle, becoming the head of the records division in Chicago. From there, he was able to move again, becoming Director of Administration for Knight Errant's Chicago branch.
Mathers is ambitious but is careful not to overreach himself. He’s happy in his role in administration, because there’s no real danger but plenty of opportunities if you’re willing to bend the rules - which he has done to make himself very wealthy. Mathers is a staunch supporter of policlubs such as Humanis, but he has been careful to keep his affiliation with them distant, knowing that it would be political poison. He is also a supporter of Mayor Standish and his party, and is friends with several powerful politicians in the city.
George's brother, Noah, is an Aztechnology technician. Both were apparently involved in the operations of the 20K killer, and the copycat. It may well have been George Mathers who determined that the 20K killer be operating in Englewood, choosing the neighborhood because of its high metahuman population.
The Almighty Saviors dropped a dime on what he was doing to the FBI, and George Mathers was arrested for illegal possession of classified documents. And because of this arrest, the FBI is now going to be on the trail of the 20k killer. Turns out Mathers was blackmailing a turn of people, bribing others. But what got him were the classified government documents in his possession. He's going away for a long, long time.
