The Grumman Apartments Deal
Eddie's first gang got a line on a big shipment of military small arms. The purchase was supposed to move the gang up to the big time. The meet took place in the empty lot behind the abandoned Grumman Apartments--but it went wrong.
The shipment information was suddenly tracked by a famous AI activist who saw this as an opportunity. A follower of Deus decided to release this information to the police at the most inopportune time. The Otaku used this as a distraction to accomplish another job, while the police busted into the Grumman Apartments. Eddie and his crew scattered. Eddie barged into a room where East was hanging with a friend. East suddenly found police at her friend's door. East is not fond of police, but decided to explore how to help Eddie out--for a price, of course.
East called Trapdoor and asked him to redirect the police. After a quick Matrix search, he discovered what the follower of Deus had done. Hacking into police comms, Trapdoor planted information about Deus' job in progress, thus pulling the police away from Eddie and screwing Deus at the same time.
