Megabuilding AR-03
Megabuilding AR-03 is one of many megabuildings in Ba Sing Se. The building is located in the city's Agarring and has over 200 floors and each floor has tausends of same-looking one-room apartments. Two dominant gangs inhabit the building: Red Dragons and The Judged. Another interest group is also forming: Pahn-Lai's mysterious Management.
The building is officially managed by Future Global Industries. The company does not interfere in the residents' affairs as long as they pay their rent on time and the building is not damaged.
Purpose / Function
The main purpose is to create living space for thousands of residents. Like any other mega-corporate building, the building serves to maximize profits in collaboration with food companies and energy suppliers.
In addition to the numerous apartments, there are also street food stands, clinics, arms dealers and many other services and stores.
Alterations
Many flats where altered by its inhabitants in clear violation of the contracts. Some flats where merged with their neighboring flats to create more Space for shady business like drug production.
Architecture
The Building is tall, large, gray and ugly. It's build with cheap concrete and uses nearly no glass. Windows cost extra and are hidden behind metal plates until you book the additional service.
Defenses
The whole building has a "shut-down"-mechanic to close the building from the city. It can be used by Future Industries to "clear" the building when things get out of control. The building can close massive steel plates and deploy armed turrets.
History
The building was constructed in 1008AG. The mega building is one of 85 buildings that were constructed as part of the development of the agricultural zone. Since then, thousands of citizens, criminals and Corpos have inhabited it. It was one of hundreds of mega-buildings that were supposed to provide affordable housing and opportunities for citizens, but ended up being just another way for corporations to squeeze the last yuan-yen out of citizens.

I imagine the building have the same style balcony toilets that instead of being connected to a sewer, feed into the the building gutters where rain washes the waste out into the nearby river. China.
In my imagination the residents must pay to use something like a balcony. But yes, maybe the waste water just flows down the walls...
