Red Dragons
The Red Dragons are a widespread gang in Ba Sing Se. They are loosely organized and attach great importance to their appearance. They are mainly active in the drug business, but also cover other criminal activities, depending on the local group.
Even though they like to appear organized, it is unclear whether there is a big boss and who that might be. Several powerful Red Dragon gang bosses claim this position for themselves.
Structure
Even though they like to appear organized, the gang is very loosely structured. Many groups are led by a boss who also has several "officers" under his command. Many gangsters conduct their business independently as long as it aligns with their respective boss's interests. Bosses of nearby groups (for example, Red Dragon groups within the same building) often meet to coordinate with each other. There does not appear to be a higher authority or a "Big Boss."
Culture
The Red Dragons place great importance on their appearance. They like to wear striking red robes with black or golden dragons sewn onto them. These outfits are often handmade, and only the "officers" wear high-quality versions of the typical Red Dragon attire.
The gangsters themselves are often arrogant and overconfident. They take great pride in their large numbers. In reality, however, they often hang around high, chilling with their gang friends in the corridors and corners of the megabuildings.
The gang prefers to recruit firebenders and non-benders with sword-fighting experience, knowledge of drug production, and firearms skills.
Public Agenda
The Red Dragons have no unified agenda. Whatever the current boss orders is carried out, and when there are no orders, they do as they please. No one believes that the gang could ever unite and achieve something greater than their daily petty crimes.
Assets
It is difficult to estimate how many weapons, drugs, and how much money the entire gang has at its disposal, spread across the many small groups. Additionally, the individual gangs have standard apartments in megabuildings and skyscrapers. Red Dragons have also been spotted in abandoned factory buildings.
History
Little is known about the gang's origins. Around 9925 AG, the first groups formed and quickly spread throughout the city. Today, they can be found on every corner in every district—except for the Upper Ring of the city.
