Shaddock Station
Interstellar space is dark and empty, so when you jump to the coordinates for Shaddock Station it would be easy to miss it were it not for the bright lights built into the massive solar array that rings the perimeter around the tall, multi-tiered construct. In the center of this massive array, floating in space, is something that looks like a slapdash version of a Coruscant megascraper. An amalgam of several different eras of space-faring technology and construction, the shadow port follows the current trend of docking bays on a center ring that contain elevators which lead into the large open promenade level with the solar panels. As one heads towards the station, flashes of engine thrusters can be seen as small construction ships zip around the solar ring.
Shaddock Station is a space station that was built hundreds of years in the past, which has had countless structural and internal modifications over time.
It is located somewhere between the Dalaang system and the Circumtore system, just outside the borders of Hutt Space. Getting there means being part of a (relatively) small group of pilots who actually have the coordinates for the station; as it is located in interstellar space and does not orbit a planet or a sun, it isn't on any known star chart. You either know where it is (or are on a ship with a pilot who does) or you don't.
The station has been around for a long time as a shadowport, a place for the smuggling and trading of illegal goods. In recent years, however, Station Management rose to prominence as the unidentifiable enforcer of the station's role as a neutral meeting ground for those who wish to meet with their enemies in a safe place without worrying about conflicts breaking out. While Station Management isn't a police force for the station, its response (although sometimes erratic) to those who would breach the peace is relatively swift and often not pleasant in the slightest.
Not only does the station act as a meeting place, it also has its own economy, where shops and businesses of all sorts are regularly established and also occasionally go out of business. These businesses primarily cater to the station's inhabitants who consist of those who stay there--either as a permanent residence or a short-term renter--and look for work via
