Arriving at Shaddock Station

Shaddock Station Stories is set 4 years after the events of Tales From Nigita Season One, on a space station in interstellar space that serves as a shadow port between Hutt Space and the Daalang system on the Gamor Run, in the mid-rim Hune Sector. If you don't have the coordinates, you can't get there yourself.

Shaddock Station is a multi-storied design hundreds of years old that has been rebuilt, patched, and tinkered with so many times that it bears no resemblance to its original design. Its inhabitants are much like those found in Tatooine's Mos Eisley Cantina--a mix of species and droid models from all over the galaxy. They're all here for different reasons, but the primary one is the station's policy of strict neutrality. Station Management, which interacts with the populace via protocol droids, enforces the station's neutrality by dealing with problems that threaten that neutrality through hired enforcers of various types. Mostly, though, people keep calm because the value of the station as a uniquely neutral meeting place is greater than any individual's desire to fuck around.

Player characters might come to the station for many reasons. It's a great place to earn a living or live off the grid where your past can't bother you. It's a shadowport and not a 'civilized' world. Station Management drives the local economy--and the players--by acting as a broker for others who have tasks that require people with a wide variety of skills to complete, often via the job board (referred to locally as the Bounty Board, but labeled Spindeed by Station Management on the kiosks present throughout the station). Job seekers may post their qualifications on Spindeed or even indicate they're looking for specific work or rewards.

These jobs allow the player characters to be their own bosses, choosing the jobs they take based on their financial needs, their personal beliefs, or their own crusades.

If you are having trouble coming up with a full backstory or reason why you might be on Shaddock, don't worry! If you'd like, your background can consist of answering one question: Why were you frozen in carbonite? You don't need to have your character remember anything other than that about their past; it can be for just about any reason you'd like and you can have been frozen for hundreds of years or a month ago for unpaid parking tickets (but see Theme below and Canon on the Character Creation page). You don't even have to give us the full answer at the start. Your character will start by waking up, and we'll take care of the rest (there's even a minor story behind it, too!). Note this is optional and not required.

Visit Character Creation, Rewards and House Rules for more information on making your character.

At the end of each mission, the GM will provide you with a means of returning to Shaddock Station if you desire.

Shaddock Station Stories Theme

This campaign is meant to be more of a cinematic adventure and galactic romp than a deep delve into Star Wars lore and drama. Expect adventures with interesting names and even more interesting characters in a variety of interesting locations. Characters should be morally flexible enough to maintain the peace on a station and alongside adventurers who do not share their morality, with a single important note: It is the hope of all GMs that characters err on the side of heroism. That being said, 'gray areas' are part of good storytelling. Just don't get fanatical in either direction, chill out, and have fun. Don't be an Edgelord or a Super Paladin, and everything should go swimmingly.
