Boeing Heralds in 2049 with Tallest Light Show

The mood is festive at the Boeing Atlas Complex as the crowds gathered on New Year's Eve for the big countdown. The vertical light show on the tower's spiraling 200 story tall fascade is the tallest in the world, with the AR and LED displays putting on a spectacular space-themed show. The show was complemented by an aerial drone display, holographic livestream performances, and conventional fireworks.   Boeing Executive Rex Kapoor and Temasek Council Member Margaret Seow opened the evening's ceremonies, officially opening the complex to the public on schedule. Space flights onboard the elevators will commence early next year, pending the final certification of the space elevator modules.   Not all festive goers were fully satisfied with their experience. Many were disappointed at the long queues and lack of selection at the Kopitiam (local food court). Several major stalls were closed on the big night, and rumors circulated that the timing of the event was "inauspicious" according to local traditions. An unknown number of persons were also detained by Boeing Air Marshalls and Certis police officers for trespassing and other minor offences.
