History

The Line of the 13th Witch

The Realm Vanaheim is the native home of the Vanir, a race of beings who descend from Mortals who interbred with Archons before Níðhöggr, the First Name of God came into power. Only a select population of the Vanir, the High Vanir, retain the blood of the Archons. They rule as royalty and are led by Witch Queen Freyja and her twin Brother-Husband Witch King Freyir.

The Imperial Coven of Vanaheim was the royal Clan, made up of 12 Witches, sired from Freyja by Freyir. These 12 daughters were later recorded as the 12 Witch Mothers of Vanaheim, each commanding a Coven of powerful Witches of their own. However, there was a 13th Witch, the only son, a feeble and decrypt old thing with unhealthy lavender hair. The Blood of the Archon, the Aesoteric Arts, was known to favor the female line and punish the male line. He was named Bālphus, the Bāl name prefix equating to defective or damaged among the Vanir.

Bālphus lived as an outcast until his siblings drove him from his homeland. He wandered the vast cosmos learning Majik and mastering his queer abilities until he came to meet Hasadiah Yedidyah, circa 2149. The Mage was impressed with the capabilities of the Witch and his Aesoteric Arts and offered him the chance to join her crusade to usurp the 1st Name of God.

Sigil and Colors of the Arcane Lords

The sigil of this lineage is that of an armored knight, standing upon a hill raising their sword and shield as the rays of a coming sunrise above them. It was awarded to Balphus by Her Grace, Hasadiah, when he served her during the 2ND Age and has remained in the family to this day.
