Recurring Themes

The first core theme of Seven Seals Legendarium is the journey of Dharma, representing the path each person shapes through their choices, free from imposed destinies. In this world, Dharma is both personal and sacred—each being’s unique purpose that they actively choose and cultivate, a journey of self-determination and self-actualization. At its heart, the theme emphasizes that life is a malleable, unshaped form, and the power to carve one’s path belongs solely to the individual. Choices, emotions, and actions are the chisel with which one sculpts their existence. This theme reinforces the belief that true mastery over life requires following a path carved by one’s hand.

The setting further explores the contrast between Natural Fate and Subjugating Fate. Natural Fate is in harmony with one’s Dharma; it is the course freely chosen, aligned with personal purpose, and not restricted by predictions or external decrees. Subjugating Fate, on the other hand, represents a life bound by prophecy, divination, or imposed expectations—a path dictated by others, stripping the individual of their agency. To follow Natural Fate is to live according to one’s Dharma, while Subjugating Fate is a violation of this freedom.

This core theme reaches its apex in the concept of the KENSEI, an individual who has achieved mastery not just of the sword but of the self. The KENSEI wields the metaphysical "Blade Called I," a symbolic weapon that slices through constraints, carving a unique path entirely by willpower. This blade does not merely cut physical forms but cuts through reality itself, embodying the ultimate freedom from external forces. The KENSEI is more than a Sword Saint; they represent the pinnacle of self-mastery and the power to define one’s destiny. They illustrate that true power lies in self-determination, making Forme a mere vessel for Function. This mastery over Dharma transcends objective truth, affirming that each path is as subjective and unique as the person walking it.

Thus, the theme encourages each person to live authentically, acknowledging that Dharma, while personal, may stand in opposition to others. Dharma is a deeply subjective experience, advocating for the individual's right to shape their existence independently. Through these motifs, Seven Seals Legendarium highlights the profound, existential value of choice, individuality, and the relentless pursuit of one’s self-defined purpose.

"Weapons do not cut it, fire does not burn it, water does not wet it, and the wind does not dry it. This self cannot be cut, nor burnt, nor wetted, nor dried up. It is eternal, all-pervading, stable, immovable, and everlasting."
— Bhagavad Gita 2.23-24

The second core theme in Seven Seals Legendarium, known as "The Great Lie," addresses a fundamental misconception: that a being’s Forme, or outer shape, defines its capabilities and limits. In this setting, the belief that Forme dictates Function is a restrictive and detrimental mindset that stifles the boundless potential of the Soul. Instead, the truth in this world is that Function, driven by Dharma, shapes and determines form.

Dharma, which is the guiding purpose of the SOUL, reflects an indestructible essence that transcends physical limits. The SOUL is seen as an eternal, divine part of the Omniverse itself—incapable of harm, diminution, or death. Therefore, because Dharma continuously strengthens the SOUL, and the SOUL, in turn, reinforces Dharma, Function becomes a limitless aspect of being. This concept reveals that if the SOUL is boundless and eternal, then the being’s potential, too, is infinite, and there are no restrictions on what one can achieve or become.

This theme challenges any notion that physical characteristics, circumstances, or perceived limitations can truly define or restrict an individual. A person’s true potential and purpose stem from their Function—their Dharma—not from any external trait. The Great Lie encapsulates society's tendency to impose false limitations based on appearances or inherited forms, which only smother the true, infinite potential within each being. Through Dharma, individuals can defy and reshape their outer limitations, illustrating that Forme is ultimately mutable, while Function—the driving purpose of one’s Soul—remains the source of true power and growth.

This theme reinforces that in Seven Seals Legendarium, freedom lies in transcending external definitions and embracing the limitless potential within. It asserts that the SOUL’s boundless nature offers every individual the ability to rise above physical constraints and shape their destiny according to their Dharma, affirming that what one can become is as vast and limitless as their will to follow their unique path.

The third theme of Seven Seals Legendarium embodies the spirit of resilience and boundless opportunity, echoing the phrase, "It is not over until the fat lady sings, and I don't hear any singing." This theme reinforces that no circumstance is final and that there’s always room to change, grow, and overcome. By combining the core ideas of Dharma and the boundless nature of the SOUL, it emphasizes that no situation can permanently constrain an individual as long as they hold onto their purpose.

This theme rejects finality, instead embracing the open-ended possibilities of life. Whether someone is in the face of defeat or surrounded by insurmountable odds, this mindset inspires perseverance, urging individuals to believe in their potential to redefine outcomes. Rooted in the earlier themes, this perspective encourages each character to continuously seek their path, carve their fate, and defy limitations, affirming that with the infinite SOUL and one’s Dharma, it is never too late to reshape their destiny.
