Twin Suns
Where once there was one sun, two suddenly burst into being nearly 200 years ago. The skies rained fire and ash, the seas boiled, and a cataclysm that shook the foundations of The Fathomless Empire and nearly destroyed it kicked off The Burning Revolt.
Magic, which had been lost to most of Landkind , was suddenly accessible to those who saw the power of the twin suns. With this new power, all of landkind had a powerful new tool in the battle against the hated Sahaugin slavemasters.
Though they have no known name, one Sun is bright white and steady, while the other is a dull red and pulses with a random, somewhat chaotic energy. Of course, worshippers interpret these aspects in their own ways, and no consensus has been reached theologically, other than that their power is unquestionable.
The dualistic nature of these dieties are shrouded in mystery still, and many cults, devotees and lay worshippers have readily adopted the Twin Suns as their gods. As this is a new religion, there is no common worship and devotion tends to have a highly personal and regional flavor.
The Cenobium of the Dual Mind is a prominent monastic tradition which has recently been expanding its influence in the north via a crusade aimed at destroying The Fathomless Empire once and for all.
