Karak Urbar

The Republic of Karak Urbar is one of the few true republics which exist in Variathios. Every citizen, dwarf or otherwise is granted a vote for representatives within their country. The senate which passes and creates laws numbers 300, and each represent a portion of the population of their country. From these numbers a First Speaker is chosen to be granted powers to help push forward laws and help steer the nations destiny.   The nation is not a large country, but it is a very densely packed one. its great cities are sites for architectural marvels. The great harbor at Tennaburg which is impressive on its own with its grand design also is host to the great canal. A structure which allows ships from the harbor to a special dock which exists outside the great mountain capital of Karak Urbar. This is just one of the many wonders which visitors to the nation can behold. Great irrigation systems, aqueducts, libraries, and smelter workshops which can refine raw minerals much more efficient rate then their competitors.   The people of the nation find themselves quite involved in politics. many political factions have formed around varying ideas and goals. These factions becoming somewhat ever present in society and culture sometimes forms around their success and short comings. comedies and plays sometimes pop up to make fun of current senators or to praise others for their moves. Despite this people and citizens favor very practical pursuits and skills. Function over form, people strive to make certain something can work before even considering the nature of the aesthetics.

State of Karak Urbar: The capital and home of the senate of Karak Urbar. It is heavily fortified. It holds a majority of the population. It is a vast tiered city which exists in great circles which expands as it delves deeper into the mountain. Filled with the greatest of forgemasters of the nation.   State of Karak Grom: A small fortified holding which mostly provides a bulwark and quick reaction to any northern aggression. It is a small territory dotted with other small fortified positions connected by special underground pathways.   State of Karak Sirif: A productive region, mostly known for its artisans and mining which provides a great deal of the mineral wealth for the nation. Universities, great guilds, and aging masters live here passing their craft onto curious minds.   State of Tennaburg: the majority of the non-dwarven citizens congregate to this above ground city which also is a large port settlement and thus provides a trade hub for the nation as a whole. It also provides a great deal of food to the nation from its farming and fishing settlements.
