Goblins

Goblins were created by Ambition in preparation for their sneak attack on the world and other gods. Creating a mortal race alone proved difficult for Ambition, and their intial contact with the Ovaettrs was with the Mistress, who provided tutelage on their creation, explaining their strong resemblance to small, impish fiends. The first goblins were created from shadow and bound to shadow, cursed to vanish in strong light. However, as creatures of pure ambition, these early Shadow Goblins quickly took to the arcane arts of the world they were invading. Through a mix of ingenuity, desperation, and gross disregard for personal safety, the goblins created their own biological bodies, making them the only race on Seori with a hand in their own creation.

Lineages

Goblins come in a numbing array of size and shapes. Most look most like the impish creatures they are descended from, with pointed, asymmetric features. Most are small, rarely growing more than a meter tall. There are some, however, that approach humans and even orcs in size. In modern times, goblins are the most numerous race on Seori, but they are famously unorganized and self-interested. They are fantastic at integrating into other societies, and half-goblins, also called hobgoblins, are growing quickly in numbers like half-orcs.

Hobgoblins

Hobgoblin is another term for a goblin hybrid. They are generally more standard in appearance than full goblins, tending to add goblin-like qualities to the general frame of their other parent. Common hybrids are goblin-orc and goblin-human. Less common in general, but common on the Pike are goblin-halfing hybrids.

Genetics and Reproduction

Goblins reproduce very quickly. Families can easily have a dozen children. Immature goblins are expected to help raise their younger siblings, while adult children are generally kicked out shortly after reaching adulthood.

Growth Rate & Stages

Goblins grow slightly faster than humans. They are adolescent at about 10, and adults at about 20. Goblins can live to about 100, in theory, but they have very little sense of self-preservation, so old goblins are rare.
