The Country of Cascadia

Known for it's famous waterfalls the island country of Cascadia can be found in the Western parts of the Aeiluean Sea. With crystal clear blue water and exotic sea food, the Island is diamond in the middle of the vast sea.

Structure

The island of Cascadia is run by a hierarchy council. Originally there were twelve individual tribes on the island that fought for power and control. They eventually made peace after much war. One of the tribes proposed that a council be made to rule the country instead of fighting over it all the time. However, when this was proposed the majority wanted a monarchy instead. Votes were cast and one tribal leader was voted as the king. They decided to still have the council created to advise the new king and so that they could bring the problems of their tribe directly to the king. Over time the government evolved into the monarchy with the council of twelve as thier advisors. A full vote amongst the council must be had for such decisions as tax increases, relief aid, or going to war.

The island of Cascadia has many beautiful waterfalls within. There are especially magically ones used in healing rituals of both body and mind. They are also carefully guarded secrets. It is said that only the council, the monarchy, and a select few who guard the waterfalls know their precise locations. Even those seeking it's healing properties must apply for permission to bathe in those water. Even if they are accepted they are carefully blinded and led on a circuitous route to the falls. It is said that the falls are guarded so secretly because the ocean mother that helped create Cascadia will bathe at the falls occasionally. Her presence fills the falls with divine energy that can cure almost any sickness or disease.
