Xandra

(a.k.a. The Reaper of Four Armies)

Xandra is a tall elven sorceress who is over one thousand years old. Most of her life has been spent as a captive slave in the palace of the Flayer Of Souls, in the Domain Of Ashen Hopes. There she was the plaything of the succubus Morselle the Everdark, who she had to call 'Mistress' - a habit she finds hard to break. She has lost most of her memories from her life before captivity.
Xandra made a bargain with Morselle for eternal youth. She didn't check the contract carefully and she became a slave, with her soul damned to Morselle's possession. Whilst in the Palace, she wore a rigid black collar that prevented her from turning her head more than an inch or so. She was only allowed three hours sleep a night and was given mentally implanted orders. She was physically and mentally abused and tortured. Experiments were carried out on her, one of which was replacing her heart with that of a demon - this gives her the ability to regenerate from injuries.
When she escaped from the palace, Xandra took with her a dress and a number of powerful magical items belonging to Morselle, including a spacial bag than can hold more than its appearance would suggest. She also has a bracelet that allows her to teleport, and a pair of spectacles that allow her to read different languages. Morselle wants her dress and items back and keeps contacting Xandra to try and arrange a trade. Xandra is holding out for the release of her soul, which is still damned to return to Morselle when she dies.
After her escape, Xandra took an apartment in Evren and had the collar removed by Kelton. It will be given to the temple for study and safekeeping.
Xandra has focused on the sphere of energy and has a very large mana core. She is a specialist in destruction magic and has gained a reputation for power and ruthlessness which results in bandits leaving her alone.
She has no patience for fools and speaks her mind. Her cooking is bad. She is attempting to learn the Corvallian language.

Trianna removed Xandra's heart and she regenerated a new one. This removed much of the demonic taint in her, but also reduced or possibly removed her ability to regenerate.

Whan Jasmine became the new Phoenix Queen, she destroyed Xandra's contract with Morselle.

History

Xandra has lost most of her memories of her early life.
It is believed that she was born in the month of Winterheart, in the Year of Purple Rains, in the nation then known as Irith, which no longer exists. There is no information on who she first apprenticed with, not until she arrived at the gates of the Karakar Great Library as an ambitious young woman of about seventy years.
She spent ten years there as an energy mage earning coin, then traveled to the Monastery of the Dowager, in the Elkath Mountains, where she spent thirty years learning the basics of the sphere of destruction.
She laid claim to a valley in the Eldwall Mountains, which held rare adamantine deposits, and built her tower there. The two neighboring nations, the Republic of Jirr and the Stone Expanse, both laid claim to the valley. Xandra defeated four armies sent to reclaim it. Then she disappeared and her attackers discovered all the adamantine was gone.
She became known as the Reaper of Four Armies, a reviled figure in history books.
