Rithevahn

Rithevahn is an abandoned city, originally inhabited by shadow-aligned fair folk. They made the mistake of kidnapping children from a nearby clan of dwarves . At least ten children were taken. The dwarves were understandably enraged and held a grudge for a long time. Both groups are now long gone.   Rithevahn fell around six hundred years ago, and only rose two hundred years before that. It was unusually large, with over ten thousand fair folk at its height. The city is situated beneath Mount Lissen, the entrance being via a mountain cave.   The buildings range in styles, with mushroom shaped ones being rather common. Something about the buildings alien and unnatural, with strange curves that don't seem to align properly.   The city contains an inactive portal which originally linked to the fey world Drazmil. The portal is made of stone inlaid with hundreds of bones, each engraved with tiny runes.   SPOILER HERE:

The portal is guarded by a ghostlich. This is a vaguely feminine, tall, gangly figure with long, stringy strands of black hair dangling down to mid-back. Its pale face has no eyes in the sockets, and its fangs form a horrifying smile.   The ghostlich was killed after Jasmine and Naomi combined their mana to temporarily seal off the barrier between worlds and isolate its core.
