Ignos
Ignos is a sapient tree in Nocturne. It is a titanic bloodroot skyreacher, the oldest of its kind in the region. It is about a mile across at the narrow part of the trunk. Unlike most of the trees in Nocturne, its bark is not white but an almost rust-red color, not unlike the color of blood. The leaves are dark green, some having glowing veins of gold light flowing through them.
Ignos is so large that many fey have built houses in its branches. It is known as the living city.
Although Ignos is intelligent, it doesn't normally talk to people. It usually communicates via Trianna, to whom it is bonded.
Ignos moves slowly through an area of Nocturne north of the Midnight Sea. When it moves, the forest is crushed ahead of it. There's a huge path of furrowed land where plants grow, then are demolished as the tree makes its journey through their territory
It used to bear a light which acted much like the sun, causing the area it was currently in to flourish with growth. This led to the vicinity of Ignos being known as the Dawn Realm. However, some sixty years ago the light of Ignos went out. The area around it is now known as the Darkening Realm.
