Hall Of Trials
The Hall of Trials is situated in the forest near to Tyrness Academy. Students are taken here to undergo their end of year trials. The Halls are situated on a dual-aspected life and nature node.
The main structure is about twenty feet tall and fifty feet across, forming a gray stone cone with a flat roof, its walls spotted with patches of moss and mold. A pair of double-doors are set into the side of the building, each made of stone and without handles, instead with copper plates embedded in the middle of each door.
A hallway leads directly into the center of the building, and unlike the outside, the interior of the structure is starkly pristine. The gray stone is polished smooth, save for hundreds of channels carved into the floor, walls, and ceiling, forming runes and containment circles that glow with copper light. Only ten feet into the hallway, the walls expand outward to form a vast circle, extending to the roof above. The entire surface of the floor and walls is covered in vast spells that thrum with power.
On the walls are a set of doors, one for each student. Once they enter their door, students are transported to a space in an adjacent plane of existence, one that is shaped by the enchantments built into the hall. Here the students face a broad series of magical trials. These vary each year depending on what the students have been taught.
A second building stands nearby, no more than twenty feet long and half the height of the first building. Ivy climbs the sides and the building has firmly shuttered windows and a door. This is little more than a temporary dormitory. It has bunks for the students, a small room for their teacher, and a kitchen.
