Irum Heart

Irum Heart Inscribing is a tradition among those who believe in the debunked magic of Infusion. Those who believe in infusion hold that carving symbols into irum stones with certain symbols would allow non-magic users to be able to pull power from it. 
The heart technique in particular is said to be able to allow users to pull two essences at once, effectively allowing them to become an aliq-esh temporarily. 
It is not only the stone itself, but the ritual surrounding its preparation that theoretically allows this. In order to carve the symbols, both the biological heart and the heart shape must be used. The shape is placed inside the biological depiction. According to practitioners, it is said that the more detailed the human heart carving, the better the infusion magic will work. The carving must be done by two people, one for each heart. 
Once this is complete, the stone is bathed in two essences. Using complementary ones is recommended to make the infusion easier, although more ambitious infusion practitioners have tried to use opposing essences with varying degrees of 'success'. 
While considered not considered illegal to practice, the results of the ritual are considered fraudulent by both the Yzel and Eoion governments. Keeping the stones for oneself is not illegal. However, attempting to sell them is. 
Those who advertise that they practice the ritual and produce the stones must do so in secret so as not to draw attention to themselves or their products.
