Our Tale begins with four young men, childhood friends, enjoying the Summer Festival that marks the 20th anniversary of the Dawn Islands' independence from their Daguo imperial overlords. It is a night filled with merriments, from festival games to snacks, as music floods the streets and fireworks light up the sky. A night of pleasantries and mostly light-hearted adventures, a reprieve from the uncertainty that the future held for the group. A calm before the storm of events upon the horizon.
