Session #10 Report

General Summary

The decision was made and the sun began to rise. All the party could do now was wait and hope that Meh the Goblin was true to his word. With nothing to really do to occupy their time, they decided to pick mushrooms and use the remainder of their roasted boar meat to make a stew to eat. This helped ease their idle minds from worrying if they were to be betrayed, especially when a rainstorm rolled in that kept them cooped up in their tents in the evening. The forest got dark, the anticipation raised as the late hour deepened… Until the Akamori cousins heard a distinct rustle in the undergrowth similar to the night before. And there he was, Meh with the box in tow. But he was severely injured from his quest for the party. They did their best to help him as he nearly collapsed as his spear-turned-into-makeshift-cane slipped. Curious they asked what it was that did this to him, fearing that perhaps the Goblin Tribes of the Silver Mountains didn’t take kindly to his transgression. He informed them it wasn’t his tribesman, but the “Big Bug” that dwelled within the cave.   Xiyan checked the contents of the box as the rest of the party continued their questioning of the Goblin, happy to see at her quick exposure that it was quite a sizable haul. Meh asked what the Mushrooms were for, knowing how dangerous they were. They could only respond that it was for money… which seemed to concern Meh, him warning them once again how toxic they were. A joke Apollo made afterward went very poorly to ease Meh’s concern. After being talked down once more he asked an important question: “So, where you go next?”     After a short discussion on the matter, it was decided that making their way further north to contend with the Emperor Crab within the Shipwreck Coast was too much of a gamble of their time given what they left behind in the depths of the Silverhold Mines… they came to the realization they were going to have to say their farewells to their new Goblin Friend-- but not before leaving him a bedroll as a gift for his faithfulness to the party. It would take them until four or so in the evening before hitting the edge of the countryside where the Akamori Homestead lay. Knowing they wouldn’t make it in time to the gates before sundown and the gates into the city closed, they decided that the Homestead would be their best bet for comfort for the night.   After enjoying the hospitality of the Akamori, while the rest of the party went to bed, Apollo decided to ask Nastu if he would be willing to enchant the rogue’s weapon. This was quickly rebuffed, and as Apollo was about to leave the room-- he decided to ask questions regarding what Yengandor claimed he had overheard. About his Grandfather. Someone that Natsu had no kind words to say about. But this was Apollo’s opening. For when asked about the war, Natsu mentioned how most of the power-players within Silver Port were involved in the conflict: From both the faction leaders of the oncoming power struggle, to the grandparents of the party-- including Greatmother Hana. He was cryptic, though Natsu did seem to have a begrudging reverence for the woman, mentioning how she had Always been in the information game and the Teahouse was always secondary… and that she always had designs. Designs that in spite of Natsu’s disdain from entering the political arena… he was uncertain if he would be able to resist the call, his place in whatever spider web of intrigue the woman was weaving. “You will need allies, this conflict is unavoidable… but choose them wisely.”   Left with these words, he retired for the night… left alone to ponder what Natsu Akamori’s meaning from their conversation. In the morning, the party gathered their things and made the trek from the countryside back into the city proper. Here in Silver Port, they would have one more chance to make any final preparations they felt prudent before venturing off to put an end to the Silverhold Elemental Crisis...
