Saru Monkey

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Saru Monkey stands in the two-foot range with short stumps for tails. They have thick fur coats that get thicker the colder the temperatures get, able to easily cope with temperatures of -4° F. They prefer to move on all fours, are known to be great leapers and swimmers, and can be found both climbing trees and running across the ground.

Ecology and Habitats

The Saru Monkey lives in a variety of habitats in the Dawn Island archipelago, from the subtropical forests of Minamishu to the mountainous subarctic forests as far north as Kitashu.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The Saru Monkey is an omnivore that eats a variety of foods. Its diet includes: Bark, Ferns, Fish, Fruit, Fungi, Insects, Invertebrates, Leaves, Nuts, Seeds, Soil, and various other parts of plants.

Social Structure

Saru Monkeys form matrilineal troops that usually range from 20 to 30 individuals, but there have been recorded instances of sightings as large as over 100 in number.
