Murder Hornet
Murder Hornets are a large, incredibly temperamental, and aggressive carnivorous species of hornet that travels in swarms that can threaten humans.
Basic Information
Anatomy
This species of hornet is a particularly large species, with a body length of 1.75 inches, a wingspan around 3 inches, and a .25 inch stinger that injects a large amount of potent venom-- enough to be a threat to a human should they find themselves attacked by an angry swarm.
Ecology and Habitats
Murder Hornet swarms prefer to live in low mountain and forest areas, almost completely avoiding plains and high-altitude climates. They create nests by digging, co-opting pre-existing tunnels dug by rodents or occupying spaces near rotted pine roots.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Murder Hornets feed on other insects, including species larger than themselves, tree sap, bees, and the honey that said colonies produce.
