Hanzaki

Basic Information

Anatomy

Hanzaki are exceptionally giant salamanders with rough, mottled, brown, and black skin. They have poor eyesight due to their tiny eyes. Though they have a slow metabolism that keeps such a creature's appetite in check, which is a good thing for they have mouths that span the entire width of their heads.

Biological Traits

Besides their massive size, the other distinct trait that the Hanzaki has adapted over its smaller cousins is its regenerative properties.

Ecology and Habitats

The Hanzaki stalks the streams and rivers of the southwest of the Dawn Islands, preferring clear and cool waters.

Dietary Needs and Habits

With a massive maw, the Hanzaki will eat what prey it can fit within; and given it has a mouth averaging 16 feet wide-- it can eat most creatures that fall within its path. This includes people and livestock, easily swallowing them whole.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

While the Hanzaki possesses poor eyesight, they are able to detect small disturbances in the water-- a keen adaptation that allows them to remain effective at hunting.
