Giant Mantis
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Giant Mantis is a species of insect that has grown to alarming sizes. They look as one would expect and Mantis to look like, in both shades of green and brown to camouflage within their surroundings, with their forelegs in what looks like a prayer-like stance as they await their prey. When a suitable meal appears they strike with quick, powerful, precision and snare their prey within their spiked forearms. Once a creature is trapped, the Giant Mantis uses its strong mandibles to tear through flesh to consume its prey.
Ecology and Habitats
Due to their size, the Giant Mantis prefers dense forests to better blend in with their surroundings.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Unlike its smaller cousins, the Giant Mantis is a known Man-eater that also preys on other creatures of similar sizes-- many locals will tell tales of unwary travelers meeting such fates to these beasts.
