Ghostcap
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Ghostcap Mushroom gets its name from the eerie pale glow they emit from the dark places where they reside, far from where the sunlight might touch them-- something that seems quite lethal to the fungi.
Genetics and Reproduction
Like all mushrooms, the Ghostcap spreads via spores. These spores are said to produce hallucinogenic results in a host, some even going as far as to claim they alter a creature's behavior that breathes them in to go the mushroom's bidding-- these claims have not been verified.
Ecology and Habitats
Due to the Ghostcap's intolerance of sunlight, this species of mushroom requires dark and damp places to survive-- places like caves.
Additional Information
Domestication
Due to their extreme sensitivity to sunlight, the Ghostcap proves a challenge for domestication.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The Ghostcap mushroom is highly toxic, making it valuable as poison regent. However, when prepared properly and in small doses, the Ghostcap is known for creating powerful hallucinations in the consumer.
