Grimnak Fest Tradition / Ritual in Seiðrheim | World Anvil

Grimnak Fest

Each year Orcs travel from their local settlements to the great city Gashak for the yearly festivities.    There is often theatrical displays of Zabiesu sealing the entrance of Arazar followed up by Grimnak feasting with him.   Following the great feast the Orc warriors prepare for their raid. Drakkon gives each of the raid leaders their targets for the year. Ever since Grimnak Fest has started the Chieftains have organized raids causing them all to be successful.

History

Grimnak Fest begun after Grimnak saved the Orc settlement from the brink of destruction. Grimnak decided that every year following the victory he would invite Orcs from all around to celebrate before embarking on a glorious raid.

Execution

The festival has several key rituals that must be followed.

The Mud Wrestling

The mud wrestling event allows Orcs who wish to rise in rank challenge their superiors. If they win they take the place of the person they challenged. An Orc who is replaced for losing is not demoted but instead is trained for less physically challenging roles. An experienced frontline squad leader may be converted into a tactician.

The Hot Spring Bathing

Following the mud wrestling the Orcs must cleanse themselves of all resentment, worries, and hatred in the hot springs. The water is enchanted to restore their spirits, heal any wounds, and prepare them for the long journey ahead.

The Blood Cauldron

The Orcs must finalize the ritual by drinking one goblet full of blood from the blood cauldron. The blood is a mixture of each type of wildlife in the area and 3 drops of Zabiesu's blood. Unknown to the Orcs this blood magically enhances them giving them more stamina and strengthens their primary trait.

The Great Feast

Finally the Orcs end their night eating the most grand fest you have ever set eyes on. While unusual for Orc nature, these cultured Orcs experience food on another level. They explore the intricacies of delicately prepared pastries, the broad assortment of finely crafted wines, the intense smells of aged cheeses, and as a finale they each have a slice of the Grimnak cake.
